BIG BALLER BRAND
Art Direction & Branding
I chose to rebrand Big Baller Brand because I felt their logo and branding didn’t fit the luxury prices that they were selling their products at— i.e $200 flip-flops. I redesigned the logo with multiple secondary lockups so that the brand would be able to live on a variety of apparel while keeping it fresh. The attitude of the brand comes from the owner Lavar Ball who is an in-your-face boisterous character with extreme confidence in himself—to give you an idea he once said he could beat Michael Jordan 1v1. This is reflected in the BOLD and BIG headlines. The Black/White marble provide a clean modern esthetic while still giving off a luxury palace vibe.
The brand is sometimes referred to as “Triple B” and the old logo has a 3B as well as BBB. I felt this was a little redundant and logo wasn’t friendly for merch, especially on shoes. I decided to just keep the 3B part using a cleaner font for the B. Since all the Bs are important in the name I gave them equal importance.
